The choirs of University High School have been selected to represent students in Orange County to sing at the annual Candlelight Concert at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa. Andrea Bocelli will be the event headliner. Unfortunately, this event is sold out, but watch for pictures to be added to the site soon!

Rob is honored to be a part of the annual Chance-a-thon to raise money for this wonderful local theater. For the month of March, his 2016 show PIANOMEN will be available for streaming from the Chance Theater website. Join Rob and his band as he sings and plays some of his favorite songs from the best singer/songwriters to ever rock the 88's! Artists include Billy Joel, Ray Charles, Bruce Hornsby, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jason Robert Brown, and more. This is 45 minutes of pure musical delight and you won't want to miss it!

After serving as the Director of Vocal Music at Woodbridge High School from 2010 - 2021, Rob is making the move across town to be the Director of Choral Music at University High School and Rancho San Joaquin Middle School. The move is bittersweet, but he is ready for a new challenge and is excited to work with these talented students. Rob has been honored as the Woodbridge High School Teacher of the Year for the 2019 - 2020 school year. Since coming to Woodbridge in 2010, the Vocal Music Program has grown from 3 choirs to 6, involving over 240 students. His choirs regularly earn Superior ratings at choral festivals and many of his students have gone on to become professional musicians, performers, and music teachers.

In 2019, Rob was recognized by the University of Phoenix (Southern California Campus) with a Leadership Impact Award. 82,000 alumni, 400 nominations, 16 awards. Rob was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award for "outstanding use of education to excel professionally and for providing inspirational leadership and service to the community."

In 2016, Woodbridge High School was named the 2016 National Grammy Signature School for its outstanding music program. This designation is one of the most prestigious accolades in music education. In 2016, the GRAMMY Foundation presented Signature School awards to just 13 schools across the nation. In late 2015, the GRAMMY Foundation announced that all four of IUSD’s comprehensive high schools were named 2016 GRAMMY Signature School Semifinalists – a historical first – making IUSD the only district in the nation with four schools with this designation. Each year, more than 20,000 public high schools have an opportunity to apply to become GRAMMY Signature Schools, but only a small number earn the honor.

In 2014, Rob was named a quarterfinalist for the prestigious Music Educator Award presented annually by The Recording Academy and the Grammy Foundation. More than 7,000 nominations were submitted for the national honor, which was established to spotlight K-12 teachers and college instructors who have made significant contributions to music education while helping to preserve its place in our schools.
